Paano Harapin ang Problema o Pagsubok sa Buhay?

1. Isipin na hindi lang ikaw ang may problema.

Isa-isahin natin.

1. Isipin na hindi lang ikaw ang may problema 

1 Corinthians 10:13a (ESV) No temptation (test/trials) has overtaken you that is not common to man. 

Do you see? Common sa bawat tao ang makaranas ng tukso. Sa ibang translation ng 1Cor 10:13, ang "temptation" dito ay test or trials (pagsubok). So, lahat tayo ay ina-allow ng Dios na dumanas ng trials sa buhay. Ito ang sinabi ni Jesus sa Kanyang disciples,  

John 16:33b TAB  Sa sanglibutan ay mayroon kayong kapighatian: nguni't laksan ninyo ang loob; aking dinaig ang sanglibutan.

Ang "kapighatian" na binabanggit ni Jesus ay katulad ng trials na dinaanan Niyang pag-alipusta sa Kanya ng mga tao, pag-maltrato, pananakit, at ang pagpatay. Ine-encourage Niya ang Kanyang mga disciples na, since na-overcome Niya iyon in His resurrection, ay magtatagumpay din sila (at tayo) sa pamamagitan Niya.  

Remember, kapag feeling mo ay ikaw lang ang kawawa or pinaka-kawawa dahil sa bigat ng trials mo, the devil will take advantage of it para ma-depress ka at maging useless in your lifetime.  Hindi Yan ang plano ni Lord sa 'yo! Parepareho tayong ina-allow ng Dios na subukin. Hindi lang ikaw, tayong lahat! For what reason? To become a better person, not a bitter person! 

1 Peter 1:6-7 (ESV) ...though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, 7 so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

2. Gamitin ang ability na kaloob ng Dios in problem solving

1 Corinthians 10:13 (ESV) No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability...

Do you see? May ability na ibinigay ang Dios sa atin para ma-overcome ang tukso at trials sa buhay. May ilang trials na within our ability at mayroong beyond our ability.  

a. Use your ability to think and analyze.

Nag-fail si Adam and Eve sa isang test or problem na common sa lahat ng tao. Unang nag-fail si Eve at nagsimula ito sa isang dialogue. In-entertain ni Eve si devil at pinag-usapan ang will ni Lord. Nag-lie si devil, "hindi ka mamamatay kapag kinain mo yan...." at nalito si Eve and then nag-disobey kay Lord. Nag-fail din si Adam noong na-convince siya ni Eve to go against God’s will.

Mao-observe na hindi naging tama ang pag-process ni Adam and Eve sa pag-iisip at pag-analyze ng problem. Pwede nilang i-insist ang truth at manatiling faithful sa Dios, pero nangyari na ang lahat. The devil won the case. They failed to use the best of their abilities para makaiwas sa trouble. As a result, kailangan silang i-banish ng Dios from Garden of Eden at maranasan ang consequence ng sin, which is death.

Remember, anumang testing or trials sa buhay natin ay may ibinigay na sa atin ang Dios na ability to think and analyze para matimbang natin ang situation at mag-respond ng tama in the eyes of God and men. 

True story. Hindi ako masyadong open sa family ko when it comes to my personal problem. In fact, takot akong makipag-usap ng one-on-one sa father ko. When I was in college, there was an instance na nagastos ko sa ibang school needs yung supposed payment for my tuition fee. Nagawa ko yun dahil naririndi na ang father ko sa dami ng gastos. Dumating ang time na hindi ako makapag-exam dahil sa unpaid tuition fee at natatakot akong lumapit sa father ko. Weird, pero yun ang na-develop sa akin over the years of military discipline ng father ko. So, I thought of a clumsy way para makabayad. Sinangla ko yung ring ng mother ko na nakatago sa closet. Then, binabayaran ko monthly ang interest from my allowance. 

Dumating ang time na hinahanap na ang nawawalang ring. Nag-struggle akong magsabi ng totoo until, finally, I made up my mind. Ang only way para makalaya ako sa problem ng monthly interest and the feeling of guilt ay ipagtapat ang lahat. In short, sinurrender ko ang pawnshop paper sa mga kapatid ko, tinanggap ang pangaral, at sa wakas ay nakalaya sa problem. In retrospect, naisip ko na ang mas better way of solving my problem (where thinking and analysis come) was to overcome fear and simply ask my father or my siblings to help me out with my tuition fee. 

Ikaw, how do you think about and analyze your problem. Do you think of a clumsy way or the better way?  

b. Use your ability to discern God's will through Bible reading, prayer, and godly counsel.

Mas madali ko sanang naso-solve ang problem na nai-kwento ko sa itaas kung mabilis kong na-discern noon ang will ng Dios. Since hindi pa ako matured that time at kulang sa Bible reading and prayer, at kulang din ako ng godly counsel from others, ayun na nga, mas pinahirapan ko ang sarili ko! 

What I am saying is this, part ng ability na ibinigay sa atin ng Dios ay ang ability to discern His will. Mas malakas nga lang ang discernment ng isang believer na sini-seek ang will ng Dios through Bible reading, prayer, and asking others for a godly counsel. 

Do you seek God's will sa pag-solve ng problem mo? Try mo! I-try natin! 

Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV  Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.  (6)  In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

3. Ipaubaya sa Dios ang hindi mo Kaya

1 Corinthians 10:13 (ESV) No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

May mga problems and trials din na aware ang Dios na beyond our abilities. Dito natin kailangang aminin na Dios lang ang makakalutas nito.

True story. Isang araw ay kinumusta ko yung isang church worker at nai-kwento niya ang problem ng dalawang kapatiran na may misunderstanding. Ginawa na daw niyang kausapin ang dalawa, pero it seems na hindi pa ready yung isa na makipag-reconcile. Then I said na ipaubaya na niya ang lahat sa Dios because that is something beyond our control. Nakinig siya sa payo ko. Then ito na. I thought of sending a message dun sa isang hindi handang makipag-reconcile--isang encouragement from God's Word with regards to their situatiton (which is a good idea). Upon sending the message I called back dun sa church worker only to find out na dumating na yung isa at ready ng makipag-reconcile. Dinelete ko agad yung message (na di pa nasi-seen) at napahiya ako kay Lord. "Akala ko ba ay ipinaubaya nyo na sakin ang lahat?" Yan ang rebuke sakin ni Lord!

May mga problem ka ba na akala mo ay ikaw pa din ang solution? Well, isurrender mo na kay Lord ang lahat at magtiwala na may gagawin Siyang mabuti along the way!

So, again:

1. Isipin na hindi lang ikaw ang may problema.
2. Gamitin ang ability na kaloob ng Dios in problem solving.
• Use your ability to think and analyze.
• Use your ability to discern God's will through Bible reading, prayer, and godly counsel.
3. Ipaubaya sa Dios ang hindi mo Kaya.
