Biblical Perspective sa Church ni Lord

Ano ang church para sa iyo? Tignan natin kung ano ang tinuturo ng Scripture tungkol sa church ni Lord.  

1. Not just a Sunday event. 

Hindi will ni Lord na ma-miss natin ang collective worship natin sa Kanya every Sunday (Heb 10:25). Pero hindi dapat tignan ang church na pang-Sunday event lang. Sinumang may ganitong thinking ay hindi magkakaron ng malalim na malasakit sa church ng Panginoon (Gal 6:10) at magku-kulang sa inaasahan ni Lord na pag-iibigan sa isa't isa (Jn 13:34). 

2. Not the building, but God's people.

Though ang prayer natin ay bigyan tayo ni Lord ng church building para maging center natin for worship, prayer, and discipleship, the truth is, hindi 'yung church building ang church ni Lord kungdi ang lahat ng "sheep" Niya. 

1 Peter 2:10 ESV  Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

So, since tayo yung "church" ni Lord, ang dapat pagandahin natin ay hindi talaga yung building (though di ito masama), kungdi ang dapat pagandahin natin ay ang relationship natin sa isa't isa--tulad ng inaasahan sa atin ni Lord to love one another just as He loved us (Jn 13:34).  

3. The flock of God obtained by the blood of His only Son. 

Acts 20:28 ESV  Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained (purchased, KJV) with his own blood.

Do you see? Hindi madali para sa Dios ang pag-angkin sa atin para maging Kanyang flock. Kailangan Niyang i-sacrifice ang Kanyang only Son dahil ang blood ni Jesus ang pang-hugas ng ating sins (Heb 9:22; Eph 1:7). 

4. God's holy people.

1 Peter 2:9 ESV  But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

Ang plano sa atin ng Dios ay maging tulad Niya na holy (1Pe 1:16; Rom 8:29) at pagliwanagin ang buhay natin in righteousness sa darkened world na ito (Matt 5:16). Kasama sa righteousness na ito ang love, justice, charity, etc..  

5. God's spokespersons. 

1 Peter 2:9 ESV  But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

Inaasahan ng Dios na i-proclaim natin Siya at ang good news na galing sa Kanya--the hope of receiving His gift of grace and eternal life though faith in His Son (Eph 2:8-9).
